Ostrovsky District (Russian: Остро́вский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,720 square kilometers (1,050 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement of rural type) of Ostrovskoye. Population: 9,110 (2021 Census); 12,787 (2010 Census); 14,758 (2002 Census); 17,141 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Ostrovskoye accounts for 46.3% of the district's total population.
