La Guarimba International Film Festival is a cultural association and annual international film festival that takes place in Amantea (Calabria). The festival showcases short films from all over the world, divided into the following categories: Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Experimental Film, Music Video, and La Grotta dei Piccoli (a selection of children’s films).
La Guarimba was created in 2012 by a group of friends who sought to reopen the only cinema in the small town of Amantea, located in southern Italy.
It aims to promote values of participatory democracy, integration, human rights, and accessibility. The association's motto is "Bringing the cinema back to the people and the people back to the cinema."
