Kapoor & Sons, also known as Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921), is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language family comedy-drama film directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Fox Star Studios. The film stars Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rajat Kapoor. Set in Coonoor, the narrative centers on two estranged brothers who return home after their grandfather suffers a cardiac arrest, forcing them to confront old conflicts, hidden truths, and long-standing familial dysfunction.

The film marked the second collaboration between Malhotra and Bhatt following their debut in Student of the Year (2012) and was Mehta’s first production credit. Principal photography took place in Mumbai and Coonoor, with Ravi K. Chandran serving as cinematographer and Nitin Baid as editor. The soundtrack was composed by Amaal Mallik, Badshah, Arko, and Tanishk Bagchi, with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir and Kumaar.

Released theatrically on 18 March 2016, Kapoor & Sons received widespread critical acclaim for its performances, writing, direction, and realistic portrayal of modern family dynamics. Made on a budget of ₹280 million (US$3.4 million), it emerged as a commercial success, grossing ₹1.48 billion (US$18 million) worldwide.

At the 62nd Filmfare Awards, the film received eight nominations—including Best Film, Best Director (Batra), and Best Supporting Actress (Pathak Shah)—and won five, including Best Supporting Actor for Rishi Kapoor.
