Jean-Pierre Makouta-Mboukou (17 July 1929 – 9 October 2012) was a Congolese politician, academic, novelist and playwright. For his abundant and eclectic work his biographers have called him the “Congolese Victor Hugo” and the “baobab of Congolese literature”.
