Emirates Writers Union

Emirates Writers Union is a non-profit association established under Ministerial Resolution No. 137 of 1984 issued by the Ministry of Community Development in the United Arab Emirates (formerly the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs) on 26 May 1984. It is known for two prominent weekly cultural activities in the UAE’s cultural scene: the “Short Story Club” and the “Poetry Club,” both held at the union’s headquarters in Sharjah. Additionally, the union has three branches located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah.
