The Battle of Niakhura, also known as the Battle of Iori River or the Battle of Kakabeti, took place on November 7, 1800. During the battle, the army of Umma Khan, allied with the opposition Georgian Prince Alexander, invaded the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti. They suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of two Russian battalions led by Major Generals Ivan Lazarev and Vasily Gulyakov, along with Georgian Princes Ioane and Bagrat.
